A former Confederate Army soldier roams the Old West, helping those he encounters. In this first episode, Johnny (Nick Adams) returns home one year after the war's end only to find that a gang of thugs have murdered his father and taken over the local mine, leaving his father's deputy (Strother Martin) and the rest of the town living in fear and despair.
