When an infamous outlaw is sentenced to be hanged, his brother (James Anderson) kidnaps and threatens to kill an important Mexican diplomat unless his brother is released. Colonel Mackenzie (Richard Carlson) believes that he will kill the hostage anyway, as well as whoever escorts the outlaw to the prisoner exchange, so he makes plans to doublecross the kidnapper.
