A cavalry commander (Richard Carlson) has received secret authorization to cross into Mexico if necessary to stop bandits moving across the Rio Grande into Texas. In this episode, Colonel Mackenzie uses a heliograph to coordinate his troops' efforts to trap the marauders who have been raiding ammunition wagons being sent to the Mexican army.
