Frontiersman and fur trader "Hawkeye" Cutler (John Hart) fights to protect settlers during the French and Indian War from raids by the Huron Indians and from the schemes of greedy Europeans, assisted by his faithful companion Chingachgook (Lon Chaney Jr.), the last of the Mohican tribe. Based on the books by James Fenimore Cooper. In this episode, while on a mission to get reinforcements for a settlement under siege by a band of Hurons, Hawkeye meets a young man who fled in terror on his first encounter with the Indians, leaving his wounded father behind.
